What is counselling?

Through dialogue with a counsellor, you will be able to express your feelings and thoughts so that you can develop a functional perspective toward yourself, others and the world around you. The counsellor also helps you develop coping strategies to address your issues.
By expressing yourself and answering the counsellor's questions you can reveal an inner self, which you haven't been aware of. This process can leave you feeling clearer and better.
Counselling Approach
Izumi will tailor her approach according to your needs and requests. In counselling child and adolescents, she tailors her approach according to age, needs and developmental level. Support for parents is also offered, according to the requirements of the situation.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Using psychodynamic approach, you can develop a deep understanding of how past experiences influence your present thoughts, emotions and behaviours. Through the process your internal conflicts will be able to be resolved.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
This therapy includes a mindfulness component which helps you accept your inner emotions rather than avoiding or trying to change them. You are then encouraged to think of what actions you can take, based on your values, to create the life you want to live.
Cognitive Behavioural
Therapy
In this therapy, we will identify your problematic thinking patterns and restructure them. That will lead them to more constructive and positive thoughts.
Solution-Focused Therapy
This is a future-focused therapy, centering on finding solutions in the present time, rather than on problems and their causes. It encourages you to identify your resources and consider how you can use them to resolve your issues.
